Deleting your account

You can delete your Things to Say account and everything in it at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what goes.

From the app

Open Things to Say, go to Profile → Account, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Nothing else is needed and nobody has to approve it.

If you cannot sign in

Write to us from the email address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm once it is done.

What is deleted

What is kept, and why

One thing outlives the account: the record that you accepted the user agreement and the data-protection notice at signup — the version, the date, the language you read them in, and the IP address the acceptance came from. That record is the proof the agreement existed, which is what allowed us to hold your data at all, so it has to survive the account it belonged to. It holds no message and no name, and once the account is gone the id in it points at nobody.

When

Deletion runs as soon as you confirm. A message already delivered has already left our systems and cannot be recalled from the person who received it — the copy we hold is what is deleted.
